Day of fun, 8/23

Post by Stardog82 » Fri Aug 15, 2014 4:29 pm

I feel like having some fun again, and there isn't a club ride for that day so....

Let's start at World of Beer in Arlington for power hour (half off drafts) from 11 to noon. Then over to the Rahr brewery from 1 to 3. After that, back to my house. I'm providing pizza and beers. Bring a swimsuit!

My address is 7604 Amsterdam in Arlington. See ya there!

Enough pizzas to make sure everybody is happy. I considered doing some grilling, but I'll still have an arm in a sling

Do you really need to arms for grilling? You can always recruit someone to hold your "plate".

Nope. I don't think you would be. You'd just be asking for help...fixer can help

Both arms work. Just the neck is not working at full capacity.

It sounds like a good time!!! We are going to spend a good portion of the weekend riding. If you guys are all hanging out still we can play it by ear. Have a few extra beers in toast to safe travels! Salute!

LOL it's not a club ride, I'm not at a level to ride with you yet. Its going to be very slow, beginner riding. Just two because I haven't ridden with a group yet (Becky will be my first victim for a mini group when it's time xoxo). Boring for all of you and I don't want to hold anyone back just like I won't exceed my abilities to keep up. I'm working toward the day when I can finally say "IN!!!" and join you. :-D

The real quandary is knowing where to fit into the line on a ride. You've got to be sure to stay in FRONT of the club token Harley...crap falling off and all. Then of course there are those leading who decide to stop in middle of intersections. Some of the Suzuki's like to shed parts going down the road also, so you can't bank on that. Best bet is to become a Ride Leader. Either you get out in front of the mayhem, or ride drag and hang back 1/4 mile or so. :)

Riding tail is the most dangerous. I had to plug 4 radiator holes on the Big Bend ride, and my plastics are pitted and, well, pretty much trashed.

Jeeeze... can I use a phone-a-friend option here? :-)

Okay Terry, you sponsor me and I will work my way toward one day becoming a ride leader.

I sense that my lactose intolerance will come in handy during some of these shenanigans!

Yeah but riding tail you see all the booty! (_|_) :icon_woohoo:

I'm still a meatball, and at the rate I'm making smart-ass comments, I may well be one forever. Better look elsewhere for sponsorship. But hey, I'm having fun.

LOL nah, be yourself, always. You, sir, outrank me. (Eh, I'm not so sure that is the greatest ego booster, but it should help!)

We'll come hang out later if you guys are all still hanging out. Rick and Becky can lug over that Sam Adams IPA flight that's polluting their fridge. ;) We won't be headed out that way until later in the afternoon/evening though. We will be childless so we wouldn't mind getting our draaaaaaank on (after vroomage!).
