Monthly Moderate - Saturday, Feb. 14

Post by dufremle » Fri Feb 13, 2015 10:23 am

FWMR Club Ride

It will be cold in the morning so dress appropriately. Get there early if you want coffee.

This will be a Moderate pace ride. Moderates are great for riders who want a slightly faster pace than beginners but still slow enough to be relaxed and comfortable on any sized bike, with a passenger, or learning to ride with the group. The pace for a moderate ride is at or near posted speed limits. On a Moderate ride the ride leader tries to keep a closer eye on the group and adjust the speeds appropriately.

Meet up at : Sonic on Clifford St. in White Settlement
Time : KSU at 10:00am

Please be dressed appropriately: helmet, gloves, jacket, over the ankle shoes and long pants.

Not sure yet. I haven't planned the route yet but I don't expect it to be more than about 4 hours with lunch.

I have the route planned. We will head up towards Decatur then make a big loop around the area to Krum, then on to Ponder for lunch at Ranchman's Steakhouse. GPS estimates about 2.5 hours to Ponder. After lunch I'm planning on heading straight back to the metroplex. I'll probably just take 156 back, but there is also the option of heading east to 35W if anyone wants to take the faster way back.

See everyone in the morning.

Are you considering stopping by the photo challenge on this ride? I'm in on the ride, just trying to figure out whether to do the photo challenge before, during or after. Also, I hope we can start my ride leader training. Thanks, Terry
