Some supplies showed up today

From left to right

.500 S&W Magnum, .500 JRH, 454 Casull, 357

The .500 JRH fits in a standard sized single action frame unlike the 500 S&W mag. The type of rounds I'm making lend NO advantage to the extra case capacity of the 500 S&W mag, once you drive a hard cast flat nose gas check beyond 1200 fps you get deformation and leading anyway, the .500 JRH is capable of pushing a 440 grain hard cast to around 1500 fps - only way I would ever load that high is with a jacketed bullet. Initial load will be around 1000 fps, if it's not too punishing and I get no leading I'll work up to 1200 fps.

Since my 500 JRH is going to become my "heavy" pusher I'm going to start loading the 454 with 240 grain bullets pushing 2,000+fps which will be easy to do with a 8-3/8" barrell - BOOM BABY

What guns do these fit in? What kind of recoil do they produce?

These are all revolver rounds, magnum and super magnums, recoil is significant as these are the most powerful handgun rounds on the planet. Makes .44 magnum look like a 9mm, the one on the left can be loaded up enough to take elefphant, a mild load of the .500 jrh can harvest buffalo. The one on the far right can take white tail deer.

Big ones with those funny looking wheel things on them (revolvers) and lots of recoil... :) Kidding somewhat about the recoil though. Recoil is totally subjective to the shooter, but I would say most would say the recoil is more than most people would like. :D Out of all of them, the .357 is the only one that is chambered in a semi-auto pistol (Desert Eagle and Coonan 1911).

How does your new gun compare to the 50 cal desert eagle Fixxer? I do want to shoot that thing.

.50 AE is on par with the 454, the 500 jrh can be loaded hotter than .50AE

50AE does have a decent amount of recoil and the flame out of the barrel is much fun to watch... :)

I have to work up some rounds, that will take some time.

50AE ~ 300grains @ 1500fps
.500JRH 440 grains @ 1500fps (and go past 500grain loads)

I haven't found a source for jacketed 440 grain bullets so I will keep it under 1200 fps.
