Track bike tires.

Trying to decide which tires to get while they are on sale. The BT003 and Q3 will be the same price.

The BT-003 has two versions--a street version (BT-003RS), and a race version (BT-003R). If you decide to go for the Stoners, then go with the race version. However, the Q3 are a much more recent model, and perform well on the track. I'd go with the Q3s, then switch to race rubber when you have the pace.

Very good response Striple. Not that I would expect a bad one from you.

I did my first 20 something track days on Q2/Q3s. One of the RS instructors did 20 on the same set, on his Fireblade. They are like forever tires. You install them, keep your pressures in check and ride till you are blue in the face. I have done a couple of days in L3 on them and was certainly not the slowest guy out there. At that point I was reaching the edge of my confidence on them. After 4 months off though... I'm sure they would be fine once again.

Well, I'm no expert, and I've espoused them before but I think no one is listening, but the Metzeler Racetec K series tires I run are basically track/supersport tires, and highly rated. They warm up quickly and easily. My bike came with the hardest compound (K3), and they are super sticky. I think they've also been used on some year models of the BMW S1000RR. The K2 would probably be the way to go. These are sister tires to one of the highly touted Supercorsa tires (sorry, I don't know one from the other). That being said...Q3 I guess, I always liked Sportmaxes when I ran them previously, and everyone brags on them. But my last word, for what little it's worth is...what Striple said. And what Jon said. And what everyone else will probably say. Glad to be of help.

My BMW came with the K3's and I liked them. They didn't last as long as I like but they did perform well.
