Have to let me know how the fairing repair goes. I have my old ones that I want to repair for track use. The lower mounting tab on one of mine is sheered off, but I do have the piece. Guessing I'll have to re-enforce it with fiberglass to get it to hold.

have you tried plastic weld? I used it to repair the fairings on the MZ & then sanded & painted it. Never knew it was broken.nitzer wrote:Have to let me know how the fairing repair goes. Suspension service on the triple. That, and freshly mounted tires.
Also, fresh set of number plates from DS.

You can still see some of the remnant yellow paint underneath. That stuff was tough to get off--both figuratively and literally.WillK675 wrote:Shouldn't that number plate be yellow. Haha

Re: Most recent purchase thread!
Yea that's the one i used. Comes in two tubes, both clay forum. Mix the two together & apply. I put a big glob on mine & just sanded it down a few days later. On the inside i left a few ridges to give it some extra support.

Fiberglass it from the inside, then use body filler, plastic weld, or whatever else can be molded and hardens up to do the outside. Sand, prime, paint, sand some more. Done.
If all you're doing is making a tap, then attaching it with superglue and reinforcing it with fiberglass will work. Just be prepared to sand it down afterwards to make it fit smoothly.

Miles, if this is on the dirt bike, just use mud. Then you'll always have a ready supply when you're riding...just pour some water on the "track". Presto...instand "bondo".
