Sorry about the bad luck, man. Heal up soon

To me it sounds like you may have had an underlying suspension issue. It Could Possibly be some aftermath of the barber accident or the age of the suspension. To me that makes the only sense when it happened several times and the fall happened on a straight when you were likely accelerating hard.

I was thinking the same, a slight imbalance between left and right forks, tweak of the frame, something that contributed to oscillation. Did you have a steering damper on the bike?

1. There is a spot on that straight that if your driving hard it shakes you pretty bad, I have video of myself getting the piss shaken out of me someplace, Thomas witnessed it, and it's not due to a seam, I may look for the video later cause it was pretty violent.

2. when you can see the bike clearly, the tank slapper is being transmitted to the rear wheel, that's physics/motorcycling 101 when you go into massive head shake and you hold on too tight the shake is transmitted to the rear wheel (there was no pumping just straight slapper being transmitted to rear wheel). Twist of the wrist does a very good job explaining how and why this happens.

3. the smoking gun - when Matt bails off the bike it immediately stops shaking

Shake induced from that bad patch of pavement, then holding on too tight when it started shaking. Classic tank slapper while holding on too tight, this is the exact same thing that got Telomere.

That is my non-professional assessment of a gnarly ass crash - you know he was haulin when you look to the left and you see that bike just flying through the air

Had surgery friday to add to my metal collection. Got a plate holding the collar bone together. Been laid up since then, have felt like moving much. Got a neat ice pack thing. Kind of like ricks cooling suit, just sized for shoulders and knees.

Might be a sore subject, but how's the wifey feel about you doing track days now? I know you've had a few bad experiences. Is she pushing for you to stop? Feel better, heal fast.

So minor update...Had surgery little over a week ago and I'm doing pretty good now. Been off pain meds for the last 3 days and outside of soreness from not moving the arm it's not bad. I go to the Doc tomorrow, hopefully he'll tell me I can take the sling off and start moving my are around a little. I can feel the muscles shrinking away and it sucks.

On the bike front, it's trashed and I'm probably going to try and part it out.

Anyone need a 2ct rear tire? Pratically new, only has about 5 or 6 laps on it. Also have a 2ct front tire that is about a year old but has lots of life left in it.

Glad to hear you are recovering. That's the important part. The bike can be replaced, but some of those injuries hang around for life.

Are you planning on replacing the bike, or gonna lay off for awhile?

saw the doc, well is assistant, or what ever they call themselves these days. Still in the sling but they took off the hard part that was keeping my arm out at an angle making me look like I had a wing. Also took xrays and said the plates and bones are exactly where they are suppose to be so now it's just a matter of time for the bone to heal. 10-12 weeks for bones to fully heal. I'll most likely be starting some basic PT in about 3 weeks. Till then, not suppose to raise my are, but I can take it out of the sling and straighten it out and move it around from the elbow down.

As for the bike, will likely get another one eventually, but probably not for a year or more. Finances are not where I'd like them to be, and with Melissa, Connor, and my schedules I don't really have time to do much riding right now anyway.

Late notice I know, but I'm going to run out to Cresson tonight and walk around and see if I can find my GoPro. Very small chance of finding it I know, but I figured what the hell, can't hurt to look. If anyone wants to join me in my futile search I'll be out there around 5.

No need. We found it in about 15 min. First we found were I was laying by finding my earplug. Then we headed off in the direction we thought the bike went and found some plastic, part of the sub frame and someother things. Ghen started back towards where i was and all be damn if we didnt find it in about 3 min.

Unfkrtunately, either i didnot start the recording or something happened, but the last session and wreck did not get recorded.

I'll edit some of the last recorded session and post it up and you will see what caused the wreck, and why I should have known better and had my suspension looked at.

Too bad the last session didn't record. Amazed you found it! Was it together and working or all jacked up?
