Gaming CPU

Post by DemonDuck » Fri Feb 19, 2016 1:57 pm

What is the best gaming cpu that isn't crazy expensive? I have a GTX970 vid card and an SSD but gonna upgrade the cpu and motherboard. Looking for advice. I had been looking at the I7-6700k and the FX-9590 and the I5-4690K. Thinking the AMD is the best value and all but I keep hearing the intel is the better way to go. Someone let me know what ya think.

Hands down the best bang for buck right here, and it has SLI.

Here's a nice web page for comparing processors,

I'm using an Intel I5 with the same GPU as you - got the fastest pre-Skylake version a few months back. The I7s are overkill for gaming. Much as I love supporting an underdog, I couldn't justify an AMD.

Turbo buttons were so dumb, it's like who wouldn't leave it on? lol.

But then I started to remember some games Ran too fast with the turbo button on so you had to use it to slow it down to be playable lol.

Hot dang, 32 GB RAM? Do you do some heavy productivity work on top of gaming? That's a ton.

I would like to say I have had time to test it all out and even before any OC everything works above my expectations. This should hold me for another 10 years lol.

Usually World Of Tanks. I play some other stuff now and then and am always open to suggestions.

I don't play as much as I would love to, that's for sure. When I'm playing something multiplayer, I'm playing Dirty Bomb. FPS, free to play, kinda old school
