Re: intelligent cranium helmets
The warning system (vibration / lights) will be continually activated when on group rides, assuming it picks up a motorcycle. And of course continually activating most anywhere else for that matter.
I like the HUD, and the camera features however.
Been doing some ready in the latest issue of Sport Rider on the street version of 6D helmet...which is focusing on a more technical means of impact absorption versus the decades old Styrofoam.

some impressive numbers and charts there. Will be interesting to see how the industry accepts them.

Re: intelligent cranium helmets
When I had my get-off at ECR a year ago (this week actually...anniversary celebration!), it knocked the wind out of me really well, which of course was the only thing I noticed at the time.
My helmet was ruined, but really only had a few scratches down into the fiberglass that to the naked eye didn't appear to be that bad. However, I clearly remember that once I kinda got my breath and assessed everything else, I was just a little woozy feeling. Nothing bad, but enough to notice it. While the helmet kept my head from ending up cracked or with road rash, the brain sloshing still continues. But, while the bike didn't high-side, the rider did, and it was a fairly hard impact. I'm just glad my head didn't absorb the brunt of it.
I like the idea of what 6D is doing, I can't really tell if the helmet is a little larger in overall size to accommodate the shock absorbing system, or if they've removed some of the old-school foam to make room.

Re: intelligent cranium helmets
Yeah, 2 out of my 5 go downs (5, damn, that sounds bad) I hit hard enough to get knocked out. So anything they can do to reduce that would be great.
As for size, I'm betting a little of both, wouldn't need as much foam, but probably need to still make the shell a touch bigger.
