I always cringe when I see those. Always rocking back and forth going down the highway. Makes me think "metal fatigue".

Hopefully you aren't trying to put that V-Strom on it....

I've wondered the exact same thing. Of course they have a weight rating your Ninja 300 isn't going to exceed. They always appear to me like they need safety chains on the corners to limit the movement.
I say go for it. If it works, you have a cheap solution. If it doesn't we all get to read a really good post about how it failed.

No personal experience with them but I have seen full blown sport bikes on them.
As long as your hitch is rated and it has solid construction it should be fine, but I too cringe when I see it. I know putting a bike in the bed of my 1500 is enough to notice, I'm sure putting the load on the opposite side of the axle amplifies it many times over.

And then there is the a-hole who decides to a-hole you in traffic, and you're in jail for beating him senseless. I guess jail is okay, if you don't have a bike to ride.

Re: Trailer hitch MC carrier
I have a full sized truck and a ramped utility trailer so I have no need for one of these carriers. I would rather invest in a trailer, but that's just me...

Yeah, I have to say it been amazing all of the uses I've found for my trailer since I bought it. Makes me wonder how I got along without it.

Re: Trailer hitch MC carrier
Ditto. It does take up quite a bit of space in my garage so I put it on those tire rollers so I can move it around with the SV650 still mounted on it.

Ha, nice. Mine sits in the driveway. One of my neighbors "politely" commented on it. I don't think he feels the big honkin' shark on the side does much for the ambiance of the neighborhood. Personally, I thought it added a nice touch.
