Post by Blizzard_1708 » Tue Feb 03, 2009 10:13 am

This saturday is looking good temperature wise, are there any ride leaders out there available to lead a ride?

I'm gonna be riding Saturday too I think... gotta put SS lines on a friends bike in the AM... then I'm planning to ride afterwards out of the Lewisville area. Maybe I could meet up with you all somewhere

If all goes according to plan, I will be recovering from a nasty hangover... so, no.

Hopefully somebody else will be available...

I would definitly join. I don't have ride leader status yet, but I would be more than happy to bring up the rear :icon_party-smilie-018:

If it's warm, I might come out.

regardless of available leaders, I'm riding and you're welcome to join me

I may be in a different area than you guys usually roam though...

I'll be doing my friends brakes in lewisville so I'll ride west on 407 through justin and then pick up 287 into decatur, then 51 right past eagles canyon.. there's a member day going on this weekend so i'd thought I'd stop in and be envious of the guys I know with enough money to have memberships... then I'll head east on 455 back towards melissa... since I live in mckinney that ends the day for me right by the house.

Anyone is more than welcome to join me on a non-sanctioned ride if none of the ride leaders in the group can make it

Since there are a few of you wanting to ride, I'll see what I pull together. Anybody got a nice route that incorporates the Canyon out on 4?

Last time I took 4 up north into Palo Pinto on a ride up that way, there was gravel / dirt all over all of the great corners. It wasn't under construction, it just all sucked. I haven't been down it since then, but beware if you go that way. I wasn't even pushing it and my rear tire was sliding around a bit.

If you go a little further there's PK, the dam overlook and just up a bit more there's a gas station and such. I led a ride that way before, it gets warm up on the dam overlook in the summer but when it's cooler it's pretty nice.

Don't think I can handle 6 hours plus stops on Saturday as I have an evening commitment. BUT, I'll go ahead and lead a ride up to the Canyon and PK overlook. I'll figure out a route that will be calm and enjoyable. I'll post in a separate thread.
