I don't know why, but I really like this photo. I think it's probably because everything is symetrically similar as far as the lean of our bikes, our head turn, etc., plust the exposure, and contrast is really nice. Overall it's a great photo.

DS, I think I'm going to buy this one, and make a print or two. You want a print?

Anywho, from looking at my photo's it looks like I need to work on my foot position, move it back ever so slightly to open my leg up some more.

here are the other two photos from that run.

I'll probably buy all three. The last one is a little over exposed, but's it's nothing a quick adjustment won't fix. Especially if he sends me a RAW file format. :))

He was either right on top of you or hauling ass up to you. It didn't look like you slowed down that much before he hit you. Would be nice to find a video from someone behind you to see what actually happened.

When he it you, you were already off the race line. My guess is he was right on you, and target fixated on you having an issue (or is a very green track rider that plays follow the leader instead of following their own lines). I know my line would have had me turning in 5-10 feet away from you at the point of impact.

From talking to the guy that avoided hitting us, he was really close to me. When I slowed down that little bit, it put his front wheel at my back whee, and it was right as he tipped in, so that's when he hit me.

Yeah, hitting neutral threw me way off line, which is why I'm surprised he hit me. I think with as close as he was, he may have been planning on trying to pass on the outside through the corner. So when I got thrown off line, it put me in his outside line.

Ooooh, I was thinking he clipped you on the right side, not the left. That makes perfect sense. This is why outside passes IMHO are far more risky than inside passes. I've been pushed out to the last few inches of track trying to pass on the outside. Plus, you're blind to the person you are passing if it's on the outside...

It's more dangerous to the person doing the passing but safer for the person being passed. If the person doing the passing runs wide, low sides, etc the person being passed is screwed. Going on the outside, it forces the passing person to take all the responsibility for watching the lead person, anticipating what the are going to do and then make the pass safely. If someone screws up, the person doing the passing is the most likely person to suffer. In which case, he should not of been trying the pass anyway.

Sounds like the guy broke the cardinal rule--the bike in front has the right-of-way. Especially if his wheel really was up on yours.

Yes, ultimately it is his fault. But for me I'm not worried about it. It was a combination of things that happened, and we wrecked. I didn't go down, and the damage done, is costing me all of $48 to repair. He suffered far worse going down, and significantly more damage. So I'm not concerned with placing blame or any of that. It happened, and we both walked away. That's all that matters.

I'll be teaching Level 2 both days. I think I'll get myself an EZ-Up to keep from frying.
