Yeah... a friend of mine on a black cbr1k with orange repsol wheels almost highsided through RattleSnake on sunday.. he asked me how i go through there so much faster than him on tires that aren't as sticky as his and I don't have any issues...Firewa11 wrote:I'm in the same boat as you, I like Rattlesnake, and turns 1 and 2 at Eagle's Canyon, or the downhill / uphill section there. I love the technical stuff where you have to slam the bike from side to sideDLSGAP wrote: Not a problem at all.. Rattlesnake is actually my favorite section of the track. I prefer the tighter technical stuff over faster sweepers all day long.
One thing I don't like about rattlesnake is how polished and smooth the pavement gets. It's not as bad in the hot summer, but when it's only in the 70's (50-60's in the morning), that section gets really slippery.
my reply.... throttle control..

gettin' my RattleSnake on

these are two separate laps at almost identical camera locations,
for going through the RattleSnake, or any other turn, consistency is one of the big keys to getting you through safely and fast

That is correct, no black mark there. The RattleSnake does not have a high speed exit, it quickly dumps you out into another set of turns (that goes for both the 1.7 and 3.1 mile tracks running CCW). Thus, there is no reason to be on the gas nearly as much on the drive out of that set of turns. Unless, that is, you are planning to go way too hot into the next section of track.
