Yeah, that part is truly mind-boggling. I suspect that this is at least in part due to the strong anti-biker sentiments among the cagers in this country.
I think this is a Texas thing.

I was amazed at how cagers were all about staying out of our way and letting us do our thing in Arkansas vs how the act here in Texas.

I don't know, back in the day when I was riding, I was always surprise how many people would pull over on the shoulder and let us pass. Granted that was on the bigger FM roads, get down to the narrow 2 lane roads and we ran into all kinds.

Well... anyone have access to publicdata.com? I mean the video clearly shows his license plate number, and I sure would hate it if that asshole's name and address were to get into the wrong, angry, bikers hands.

I've been seeing people on facebook talking about paying him a visit.

Good way to get shot (castle law, and he's already crazy) or at least get very expensive lawyer bills. However if someone were to do it, I hope they record it.

Doesn't necessarily work in Texas. That info is not public data and is only available to law enforcement and licensed investigators. Some online places have a database of numbers, but the info with them may not be up to date.

Not true, anyone with an account can pull pretty much any info you can imagine on you, almost right down to your favorite kind of porn.

I watched one of my former bosses pull up my previously owned car colors and they just worked in IT, nothing special about them.

I think Arkansas was a bit different. Without those rides and the money the riders bring to town, there wouldn't be shit in that part of the state, so people generally welcome us.

Down in Grandbury, we're just a nuisance. And this guy would probably be an ass hat no matter where he lived.

This has gone national now, and is picking up a lot of steam. Still glad to see most people side with the rider, and that regardless of a minor infraction, old guy needs jail time.

I don't think so. I believe the only way it is legal is if the lead vehicle pulls over on the shoulder to allow you to make the pass. In fact, even in legal passing zones, if you exceed the speed limit while making the pass you can get a ticket. I know in Indiana, the actual letter of the law said you were not to pass people unless they were doing 5 or maybe 10 under the limit, and when you did pass you were not to exceed the posted limit.
Before I make any disparaging remarks about Hoosiers, is anyone here a member of that clan? :)

Sorry, went to high school in Kentucky for a while...Hoosier bashing is a state sanctioned sport.

I think in Ark they seemed to have a good sense of how much money bikers pump into the economy, they were very inviting everywhere it seemed.

In Texas, we're just taking up space some jackwagon thinks they own. Little do they know I have the deed...I just couldn't afford the Terry's Lane sign.

Does anyone remember this video?

This driver went to jail. He said the same thing - "the rider shouldn't have been there." Not sure what state it was taken in but it looks like it could have been Texas.

This latest video seems pretty clear cut. The asshole driver said nothing about an insect when the cameraman asked him why he did what he did.

jeeze, what an ass. Even if there really was a bug that bit him, a normal person would of felt awful about hitting someone like that.

First time for me...that's actually worse than the Granbury dude...a minor miracle he didn't run head-on into a bike at some point. Start of the video says Kentucky, and let's just say it has it's fair share of backwoods, backwards, redneck assholes, and that dude isn't just a member, he's the president.

I always love it when idiots complain about the way bikes run down the road yet they do far worse try to catch up and yell at them.

Yep, reminds me of the dude who chased me down at Cranfill's to complain about this very thing. "Uh had tu drev over a hundrit to ketchup with ya"...in his beater Dodge truck with his wife riding along. :-?

And I passed in a passing zone...albeit at 5-10 over the limit. :D

Then again, who cares! Its always disturbing to me to see how people equate legality to morality, as if the second something becomes illegal, it is also equally immoral. Speeding is in itself not necessarily immoral at all, as long as there are no other confounding factors involved. The same goes for passing in a no-passing zone and many other traffic violations. Along the same lines, texting while driving is perfectly legal in many (although not all) places, yet there is plenty of research that has shown for the effects to be not unlike those of driving under the influence. In spite of that, a lot of people find the former endearing and the latter to be outrageous.
