NICE!!!

I just received the news and am looking forward to the track day. I have been unreachable lately as my Mother-in-law just passed away last week, the funeral happened Friday, My birthday happened Saterday, and things are starting to settle down a bit. This will give me a chance to get my mind off of other things and get some good less restricted riding time and experience. I have not done an "official" track day befor, so I may need some tips on what I need to do/bring for setup and when to be were (What time does it start and when to I need to be at the track?)

I hope to see many of you out there.

Thanks again,
Meat of Snail

Congrats snail carcass.

Trackdays are busy in the morning for new folks out to the track. I will try to prioritize them for you:

1. make sure your head lights, blinkers, tail light are taped up.(painters tape works the best)

2. remove License plate if you can or just tape it.

3. remove mirriors is the best way to go. if not you have to tape them up.

4. bring an extra 5 gallon gas can. You will not need any more than that. Make sure when you fill your gas can fill your bike up.

5. bring any tools you think you might need.

6. Bring leathers and boots....oh yea, helmet. what else! anyone feel free to shout out some more stuff for the rookie.

7. :-o
Riding around aimlessly will get you no where!

Look on the RideSmart web site. If I remember right, it covers it in pretty good detail.

Jim, what do I have to do on the RR to shut down the lighting? It's easy on the Bird, but I don't know on this one.

I just unplug the front headlights. They are easy to get to. I just put about three layers of tape on the rear taillight. Not sure on yours, but in order to get to the plug for mine I have to pull off the tail section.

Where's your fuse box? It's easier for me to pull the fuses then try to do anything else.

On mine it's under the left mid section of the fairings. Either way you have to pull off body panels. Honda didn't make it easy.

The headlights are easy, you can just reach in and unplug the bulbs. I just tape the connectors to the failirng to keep them from flapping around. Then I tape over all of the other lights, with extra tape on the tail light so the brake doesn't show.

Probably the best way for me, too now that I think about it. The headlight plugs are right in the front, easily accessible and the LED's for the tail shouldn't be hot enough to bother the tape.

I agree with Dark-I pull one fuse out and it takes out my lights. My R1 fuses are located behind the fairings which are attached by quick connects so it is really easy to take them off.

Yeah, I might need you to show me that... never pulled the fuse on the R1.

If your fuse box is the same place as the 03 I can show you where it is.

The fuse is under the seat on the 954, figured the 1000 would be the same, as it was quite easy to just pull it out.
