Re: MSRC Aug 18th & 19th role call
Weather forecast for Saturday looks potentially troublesome (40% chance of rain/scattered thunderstorms), but we might get away with it.
Also, RS has added a cruisers & touring class for the 1.3 (of all things) on Saturday, and eliminated L3, which means that L2 is going to have a ridiculously wide range of speed and skill level out there. Things could get interesting out there.

Re: MSRC Aug 18th & 19th role call
I'm skeptic (I know, shocker that), and am surprised that RS would use the 1.3 for a cruiser and touring class, when the 1.7 would be the perfect track for that kind of group. Plus, L2 does tend to be enough of melting pot of skill levels as is, and adding L3 riders in the mix could make for some pretty extreme differences in closing speeds.

Hummmmmm........ I might have to sign up for the touring class. the goldwing has alot of stuff to tape up.
Random stuff I say:
Women are like square roots, if they're under 17 you just have to do them in your head.
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an incline plane, wrapped helicly around an axis?

You better jump on that -- its already listed as having "limited space".fireblade wrote:Hummmmmm........ I might have to sign up for the touring class. the goldwing has alot of stuff to tape up.

Totally agree, but i can't wait to watch some goldwing tackle the hairpin!!! To be honest i'm kind of excited to have the lvl 3 guys in the same group. This is another good chance for me to learn a great deal from someone who is better!Striple wrote: and am surprised that RS would use the 1.3 for a cruiser and touring class, when the 1.7 would be the perfect track for that kind of group.

I know what you mean, but I'm concerned that the excitement may give way to an entirely different sort of emotion when you suddenly run up on a recent L1 graduate in mid-turn...milesmiles wrote:To be honest i'm kind of excited to have the lvl 3 guys in the same group. That's it punk, you go around me in a corner, you're getting a taste of some 1050 triple WOT on the straight.

I have mentioned this to him (since I am not riding) and he refuses. Not quite sure why. Maybe you should hound him (although I doubt anyone will get tires in, in time for Saturday for him to run).milesmiles wrote:Your wifey has a bike that is perfect for the 1.3

Re: MSRC Aug 18th & 19th role call
If someone wants to pay the repair bill for my Gixxer (that is not Telomere) then I'll spend money on tires and consider riding the 1.3 on the 250.

Re: MSRC Aug 18th & 19th role call
He won't ride it because all he's got is a throttle hand. Parking it in the corners is way worse on a 250.Telomere wrote:I have mentioned this to him (since I am not riding) and he refuses. (does that count as hounding?)
Re: MSRC Aug 18th & 19th role call
Well, I was going to save this for later, but since Rhino poked I'll let the cat out of the bag.
I didn't actually break the oil pan on my bike, that's just a cover story.
I'm having a turbo and nitrous installed, but that's not the kicker, I'm also having a stretch put on it and putting a 300 on the rear, sounds common, right? I know what your thinking but there is a twist...
I'm also putting a 300 on the FRONT, here is how it works:
ECR - good long straights, the stretch with the 300 will add a lot of weight to the back, and will allow me to spin up the turbo and dump in the NOS on the straights without looping the bike, but that's not really the "key", the most important component is the 300 on the front, work with me here.
The turbo, +NOS, +stretch +300 rear tire means I've got no problem getting around everyone soon as I see a glimpse of a sraight, but that's no good because they just pass you in the next turn as your hard on the brakes.. not so!
With a 300 on the front, I'll have EXTRA stopping power, combine with that the fact that the 300 on the rear with a stretch will act as a counter weight, I'll be able to brake harder and deeper than the best equiped motoGP bike, then repeat on the next straight. On ECR I figure I'll have Ty's record in a bag.
At cresson, the 300 add's another element, big ol wide tire should make it so that I can just go straight through the rattle snake. You can work on your lines all you want, I'll make brand new lines no one has ever heard of before.
So ya'll haven't seen anything yet, just wait... just wait..

Me too, up until the 300 front wheel.
I wouldn't put turbo-nitrous past Fixxer.
