Saturday would probably be better, more of us campers there.

I'll be selfish though and vote for Friday since there won't be many there I'll get more boat time.

OK, BO, let me know what you want to do... Friday or Saturday? I'll pump up and check out the Manta and bring it out. Is that a JET boat? If so, it may have a tough time with SOME of the folks. Either way, it should work.

BO, give me a call (if you're in the states) at 817.917.0181 so I can put the 'off' time on the calendar tomorrow if possible.

Didn't make it to our Lake Day, huh? Yes, it FLIES ... pretty much in control of the boat driver. Here's a hint: don't feed me or BO a bunch of beer before we put you in the air!! Some of the guys tried it out last summer on Joe Pool and nobody left without stories to tell. Linda (the lightest of the bunch) rode it like it was EASY... I think that was due to her hanging on for dear life and hoping not to crash (yes, the water DOES hurt at those speeds).

SF900 has had the most 'air time' to date, but he's not going to be on it for the outing. It takes a lot of balls (or stupidity), upper body strength and trust to fly that sucker. Guess we'll see next week who has all of the above! :-)

Digi wasnt part of the group last year when you guys did the lake thing. I remember hearing about it, but I was still in Hawaii. Sounds like fun though. Just hope I have the upper body strenght and the nuts to be able to fly!

Bird or BO, make sure you bring a tow line that is long enough... the longer the better.. And if you have a towing tower (wakeboard style), bring that too ;-)

The Manta Ray is basically a tube that has a delta wing shape, and with enough practice (and upper body strength), you can fly it out of the water. To fly it, it requires a bit of speed (35-45mph), meaning that when you fall off it hurts a bit... It requires quite a bit of balance, which makes sense that us moto-riders can do it. It's a heck of a lot of fun!

Did they stop making it, or are they just out of stock?

I know they pulled the plug on the giant round flying tubes as too many people got hurt/killed and several lakes outlawed them. Never heard anything for sure regarding the Manta though.

I dunno, but it pisses me off whenever the government steps in and tries to keep me from doing something to hurt myself....

And I just realized that we have totally hijacked Terry's 'do not hijack my thread!', thread.

I want to Manta now.

I'll get some game stuff to bring, like horseshoes, etc, and figure out what else we need to get when we come out Thursday night to set up camp. I think the idea is that we're going to come set up camp Thursday night, go home, work Friday, then come out Friday evening and be ready to go without having to set up camp while everyone is already drunk

More of a BYOT event, but you can pick up some good tents for pretty cheap at Target these days... If we had an extra I'd lend it to you but unfortunately don't have one...

I'm not much for summertime camping so I probably won't pitch my tent. I do have an awning I bought a few years back - never used it. Rain is forcast, we might be happy to have that.
I'll bring enough stuff to make fahitas one night, chicken & beef OK with everyone? I don't have a grill though.
Need a head count to ensure there's enough - 20 about right?
Found an old "Twister" game...
I'll bring some change for a poker game too. Ya'll bring lots of change please.
