Yes, I saw people there who had simply taped over theirs. Not sure how strict they are on it having to be disabled, or if blacking it out is sufficient.

I'll be there, I can show you the ropes. I'll be in L1 so we're going to the same places at the same times.

Typically we all pit together so you won't be on your own anyway (unless you're the only one signed up for a track day).

For the brake light, put a layer of painter's tape then a layer or two of duct tape. You just don't want your brake light to be visible, that will mess with the people behind you.

Yea, if you can do it the night before then do it. My low headlight only uses one side of the headlight, so the night before i would tape of the side that did not turn on(when i rode to the track). Have all your gear ready by the door the night before. Drink that water, it might not be hot, but drink plenty of water the day before & day of.

So long as you use painters tape, leaving the lights on shouldn't be a problem but if you can pull the fuse, or disconnect the bulbs, I'd suggest doing that as well.

With that being said, in the summer time headlights on + texas heat + painters tape = sticky residue left over. One guy inspecting my bike at a track day asked me if i had my use taken out, which i said "yes". He then told me how a speed triple left his in during the sumer & the tape baked to the lights ruining them.

Not sure if he was using the correct tape, but either way you don't want to take a big chance.

If you wash your bike and wax the areas you tape with blue tape, it comes right off without any residue. I usually do painter's tape, then duct tape over that.

Yea just do everything on one wheel. It helps because that's one less wheel you have to worry about

You'd be in good company if you did. Our very own presidente ate it on a round robin once.

Are you riding on Sunday also, or are you just going out early to set up?

A word of caution on taping the headlights...my lenses are I guess some type of high-impact plastic. I had them taped up for two days worth of riding, about 8 sessions each day, so maybe the headlights were on for a total of 8 hours, give or take. I used blue painters tape, then black duct tape.

When done, the trapped heat had distorted by lenses (they're still that way). I've got to find a way to disable my headlight. If you have an actual glass lense you're probably okay. If plastic, I'd be cautious....for what's worth.

They're doing a trackday on Sunday also, you may not be able to get a space to set up, and you may or may not want to leave your bike overnight in some random spot.

It's typically better to just get there early the day you're riding.

It would be a lot easier to just find which fuse. Plus if you take the bulbs out you stand the chance of touching them. The oils on your skin tend to burn them out rather quickly.

Just turn on the bike. Doesn't have to be running. Start pulling one. If it doesn't work put it back and pull another.

Do this a week before you go. No reason to have this on your plate the night before

Then you know which one to pull the day of
