Specifically, the leak in question is on the aftermarket stator cover we picked up. Not the main gasket for the stator cover, but a little additional cover built into the stator cover that covers the starter motor gear. That extra cover only has 3 bolts holding it on, with a little o-ring that I noticed when installing it seemed to be the wrong size o-ring. Gotta love chinese aftermarket stuff. Anyways, I'm just going to apply some gasket maker to the inside of that cover. Won't cause any issues and will seal it up.

milesmiles wrote:So i've had this problem as well, i kept thinking i had messed up the gasket every time i put it on(i went through 3 gaskets). Finally i cleaned it up really really good & filled it with water. I left it there for a few hours & came back...nothing. came back the next day & could see where it had been slightly leaking. It was just the smallest of hairline cracks.
It seems I was lucky this go around. I filled the tube and had no leak after letting is sit for 6 hours. After closer inspection, I mean real close, I found 2 4 inch scratches down the front of the tube that looked like burnt rubber. A little 600 grit sandpaper with some elbow grease saved me allot of money and heartache. Catastrophe diverted! Hopefully I will be up and running by tomorrow.

I plan on coming to do some chain adjustment and maybe change my air filter. I planned on changing my oil but don't have a filter yet.

Well was going to try and get out there but it looks like my bike has an issue with the gear box. Not sure if blown out or if there is an adjustment needed or possible. Hard to explain but tons of movement without catching a gear. When in gear and I try to downshift it's flat not movement at all. I have to play with it up and down to finally catch a gear. Anyhow I won't be making it to this event.

Update: After looking harder it may just be my return spring that has failed. Not sure I can fix it myself since I've never taken one apart before. http://www.mvagusta.net/forum/showthread.php?p=567873" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Or the current owner. Considering how cruddy my gear and bike look, especially with bug crud, I may need to check mine.
