Yes communication is required for club rides. Those that do not use Sena's substitute in things like middle fingers. Those that choose not to use comms are more than welcome (most do not use comms) but yes, everyone must communicate. If you don't talk to me at stops I'll think something is wrong with you, then no one will like you.

Don't be strange, communicate.
Sounds like a response from DS.

Haha I meant in helmet units being linked. I like to listen more than talk so you might think something is wrong with me.

I had a good time tonight. It was nice meeting those who came.

What about interpretive dance? That's a form of communication.

Hope to make it out next time! Spent our evening waiting for a repair guy who never showed.

Okay, so we need a club iPad (on non-ride weekends we can store it in the club trailer with the club track bike), set it up on the table at Sonic each ride, newbies then sit at the table and watch for their handle-signal ride briefing. :-D

I would also like to suggest a portable club strobe light for top of ride leader helmets. Push a button, the light flashes, and hopefully someone gets the signal to...turn off their signal. We had a bunch of that last ride. :SideSplittingLaughter:

Of course, the guy on the gray Triumph was the main offender. But he was new, so it was to be expected I suppose. He normally rides his dirt bike, so he's still learning. :(( :-)

Good stuff Firewa11.

Comms certainly aren't required. We're trying to make a push that ride leaders must have and use comms, but that's not a done deal yet. I know that when I lead rides, I like to be linked to the tail and any other ride leaders on the rides, and *not* linked to everybody else to minimize chatter that could get in the way of communicating something important, but that's my personal preference. We frequently have rides with the ride leaders linked in one channel and everybody else with a Sena linked in another. It's nice being able to BS on the more boring parts of a ride.

I'm really hoping my new S20 will let me listen to music and be on voice comms at the same time, that's my ideal setup.

The Prez brought gifts to shower on the masses, almost like Christmas. Nice turn-out I thought, and good to see everyone again. Charlie is The Man, and I think we have a new granddaughter named Layla. Nomad and Jensen, good to meet you both.

Here are a few pics...
