Trailer parking

Post by LonestarCBR » Tue Jun 30, 2015 10:29 am

After rattling their cage a little about my newly installed headlights coming loose at 70 miles or so, Eurosport wants to take a look at my bike to see what's up, what they might have missed, why the bracket broke, why the shield has always had some "shake" in it, etc.

I may be able to get it "rideable" by Thursday, but it's a busy week. So if not, I may just haul and drop it.

Problem is, we're headed to Tulsa for the weekend, I don't want to drag the trailer all the way there an back, and Eurosport doesn't have good secure place to park it.

Might anyone know a place where I cold park it from Thursday to Sunday? I have stuff to lock the tongue down so someone can't simply grab and go.

PM me if you like, or if you have ideas. Thanks, Terry

How big is the trailor? If it fits in my driveway you can park it here. I'm about 13 miles or so from Eurosprt.

Terry you could store it at my place. Gated apartments that are in front of the police station

I will need the keys to the bike, you're not going to pull a "striple" on me and leave a bike at my place with no keys(just kidding :) )

The trailer is a 5' wide by 12' long, single axle, so fairly small.

No bike, just a trailer, nice try.

Thanks guys, I'll let you know. Either of those locations should work out pretty well if you have room.

When I read the title my first thought was this was going to be a thread about going from trailer park to trailer park, and parking.

Well, this just goes to show that you can take the boy out of the trailer park, but can't take the traile...you get my point. :-D

That's easy, the heavy ass radar detector you mounted to the shield.

No, it had the shake in it brand new, before I ever got close to it with the radar detector.

If you shook it with your hand, it felt solid, but out on the road it simply shook or vibrated way more than anything on the bike.

Honestly, probably poor design, it should have been more secure from the get-go.

The metal was a small area, thin, and weak, my guess is metal fatigue.

And there's your problem, ie. it's a Triumph.

I can't believe I'm the first one to say it, it's the perfect set-up.

You're just not on the right thread, plenty have already said it. That being said, it runs fine, no matter where the headlights or windshield happen to be hanging. :-D
