Impressive...and that thing sounded pretty sweet.

Why is it that i don't hear much about the CBR300 as far as the track goes? I hear plenty about the ninja, is it just because the ninja is more popular therefore more parts/cheaper?

And it's a twin I'm guessing...CBR is lower on power than the other comparable bikes that size. There have been several bike mag reviews on the CBR, R3, Ninja 300, and KTM 390.

Yamaha or KTM have been winning based on the criteria most of us would use to buy a street bike, but they all have their merit.

well, i'm not looking at it power wise. The 250/300 has it's own place at the track that has a huge appeal.

Okay, do you want a single, a twin, the softest ride, the sharpest handling...they all have certain compromises.

Cycle World has a test between the 3 that you can get on YouTube. Like Terry said, they all have compromises. I think the R3 and Ninja were best on the street and the KTM was best on the track but it's bee a while since I watched the video. Personally, I prefer a twin.
