Intermediate Ride (May 26th)

Post by GSXRRider » Wed May 23, 2007 8:15 am

I am leading a ride Saturday. It will be a little different than usual.
We wont hit twisties or be going all that fast (all the time). We might hit some twisties and also do a little crusing around.

I have not figured out the route but it should be a fairly short ride and includes lunch.

meet at Sonic at 9am Saturday and I will explain the ride.

The reason this is intermediate is because we will have some sections that are twisty and fast but most of the ride will be moderate. We will also be riding in a large group in traffic and people should be GOOD at group riding.

how many moderate rides do you need to go on be for you can get in on a inter ride?

Hmm, my curiousity has been piqued... I am probably in.

Any further hints as to what to expect?

We tend to say at least 2, just so you get to know the people you are riding with and how we ride as a group. If you are comfortable cornering at high speeds then you may want to try an intermediate. If you tend to slow down for corners you may want to wait a bit.

I’m confident with high speed cornering and even better at jumping turtles. I would like to attend if that would be ok. I under stand if yall want to see how I ride a little more though.

Hell, I'll guess, that's what the meteorologists do anyways!

Light showers clearing up after midnight, then mostly cloudy in the morning with a chance for thunderstorms after 2pm.

That's my prediction...

I am in Aledo, just west of there. It is sprinkling here and has been all night. The roads are wet at my place. If you guys are still going to ride, I will suit up and head over. Let me know.

It was raining pretty heavy here so I didn't go. Tink and I rode to my parents in Abilene, got soaked for about 30 mins, then it was a good ride... coming back it was clear all the way until we hit Weatherford, then got soaked again. The things we put ourselves through to ride

3 of us road, we made it to Eagle Mountain Lake. We decided to let a large dark cloud pass as we sat on the dock looking out over the marina. When the rain let up a bit more we decided to continue on. We did not get much further befor deciding to call it a day and head back to the houses. It was a short ride for the rain, yet it was a bit longer than the last intermediate which included many bent rims. Again, we had a decent ride in the rain and no one got hurt.

I was ready to ride... kept waiting to see something on the boards for a GO/NOGO thing, before driving out from Dallas.

Glad you guys had a good ride, wish I had been there!

Glad those who rode made it home safely. I was doing nothing but packing in the rain moving into the new house. Need to update the calender for the next ride.
