Kickstarter Earplug

This is interesting and looks like something anyone with a mill could make. Will be interesting to see if they go into production and how well the community receives them.

I saw these, too, along with a few favorable reviews. My worries are a few. First, foam plugs work well for me. Second, I've never had an alternative that promises a balanced noise profile - I.e. only stops the loud but you still hear the quiet - work. Third, the end tips are proprietary and look somewhat like Comply tips. While comfortable as all get out, Comply tips fall prey to ear wax and gunk just like foam plugs do and are far more expensive to replace. I haven't seen any pricing on the replacement tips, but Comply tips are north of $10 for 3-5 pairs as a reference.

I'm happy to be in the "wait for retail success" camp.
