Single sided swingarm front and rear. Wonder how it handles, if it is even ridable.

Re: Before you go bashing boxer bikes
looks like a cross between the old yamaha GTS 1000, a bimota tesi and a boss hoss.
'They' used to say that swingarm front ends were the future and BMW used that silly telelever set up (maybe they still do?) on lots of stuff. I have ridden a bmw r1200s with the telelever and it felt odd. Seems it is mostly an exercise in engineering that on paper is superior, but in reality does not work out. kind of like buell racing perimeter brakes.
that being said, I would like to ride it.

The R1200 GS's still use the telelever system. The other GS's probably use it, too.

No, the other GS' are standard forks, well, the 800 might be inverted. I think it might just be the R1200GS and R1200RT, but I don't know that for a fact.dufremle wrote:The R1200 GS's still use the telelever system. The other GS's probably use it, too.

Re: Before you go bashing boxer bikes
do you find that it works well on the GS? I could see how on a dirt(ish) bike with abs it could be great because you get braking without compression.
When i rode the telelever last (it was 15 year ago), I found the front end felt very vague on the brakes and in corners. I am sure it would be something you would get used to but i only rode the bike for a few hundred miles over a couple of occasions.
