Turkey Ride Nov26th Sephenville Inter & Mod Welcome

Post by GSXRRider » Tue Nov 14, 2006 7:43 am

leave Sonic at 10 AM and head to Stephenville for lunch.

We will go through Lipan south and back up 51 north.

We will be eating lunch at Hard 8, of course!

This should be a big group. After the holidays people are ready to get out of the house.

I will designate a moderate Ride Leader; need a volunteer! I would like to coordinate before the ride.

I will also be using my Collett so bring yours too.

If it is freaken cold or raining we may cancel, I will show up to the Sonic no matter what!

This ride is open to all so invite a friend or bring the wife if you can get her to go.

I'll lead the Mod group. My collett is still not working though. Need a new power cord for it.

Bird325, any update on that?

You can use the HJC or Arai I brought over. Was it the silver HJC that fit? That way you dont need to worry about a helmet right away.

I am not sure which one fit best... I guess depending on how shopping goes Saturday, I may have to borrow it.

I'm still in the market for a spare helmet. PM me with your contact info if you still have any of that stuff we previously discussed.

I am in. Just had a new set of Pilot Power 2ct mounted yesterday on the 51 and it feels like a new bike. Hopefully they will continue to impress and get some good milage. They say they have a thicker harder compound in the middle soft and sticky on the sides.

They're on the way ... ordered 4 of them and they will be here next week. Those that need a new power cord, let me know (a lot of you did it on your own).

We won't be riding to this one, but we'll plan on caging it down to Hard 8 and meet you all for lunch. Experienced my first front flat tire at high speed on the way home from work today. That's just no fun at ALL! Kept the bike up, but it's amazing how hard it is to turn the bike with a front flat, or keep it from going whatever direction it feels like.

Glad to hear you are ok....

Isn't that your second flat in about a month??

Yeah it is, first one was the rear tire, now this one in the front tire. It sucks! :-o

And you didn't even really get a chance to wear those original tires out!!

again glad your skills from the track are serving you well...

Where (what road) did you pick up this puncture?? (nail??)

It was on 114, in front of the airport. It was a really fast leak, I'd say in about a 1/4 mile I went from fine to flat. Hole was there but no nail or evidence of what caused it. It went flat right after the construction zone so I'm sure that's where I picked it up.
