Leather Repair
The zipper on my leathers broke at the last track day and I was refered to Shannon Nelson to get it repaired. She did a nice job on the zipper and put the club patch on for me all for $45. I dropped it off Thursday evening and picked it back up on Tuesday, very quick turn around.
If any of you need leather repairs or patches put on I'd recommend her. In addition to good work and quick turn around, her price is very very affordable compaired to other places I've talked to.
Panther City has gotten sketchy. MotoDFW people have suggested 3 other locations, one involve mailing your leathers.
MotoLiberty
You can drop leathers off at MotoLiberty and they have a guy that works on them.

I think $45 is probably still a pretty good price. Getting ahold of her though, that's just the down side of a out of your house kind of business. Although there's no reason for not being able to leave a message and some one get back to you with in a day or 2 at least.
If you find some place that is cheaper please post up. Leather repair isn't something that's needed often but when it is needed it's nice to have a list of places to go.

Re: Leather Repair
Does anyone have any alternative shops/individuals that they would recommend? I have some leathers that need to be patched, and I cannot get a hold of Shannon, despite multiple calls and e-mails.

Try Technical Performance Apparel, I think that's who Motoliberty uses for their repairs and alterations. No personal experience with them myself, just something to check out.

Panther City (Shannon) sewed my zipper in backwards. I had trouble getting out of my jacket often.

Re: Leather Repair
Moto Liberty ended up doing a decent job at patching the leathers. Cost was $50.

Re: Leather Repair
Going to have to give MotoLiberty a call. The suit I got from Joe, that was a bit tight a couple months ago, is now too lose. Pants fall down if they aren't zippered up to the jacket!
They'll work for the track day coming up but damn. Losing weight is expensive!!!

I've added 10lbs worth of usable horsepower to my bike recently

Re: Leather Repair
So, is there anywhere in Fort Worth to get my zipper replaced on my leathers? Kinda don't want to ride another track day with my fly open

My zipper works but it is a pain to zip and unzip because the "handle" portion broke off...just makes it a little more time consuming to zip and unzip.

Re: Leather Repair
Well yes it is one less thing to worry about, but a) I'd really hate to have someone in tech at LSTD or RS catch a look at me and tell me my leathers can't be worn on the track, and b) God forbid I go down on a track because I don't want to leave any divets or scratches all over the track surface

Re: Leather Repair
Two words for you without knowing exactly how the handle broke off on yoou. Zip Tie! My handle broke off two years ago, I attached a zip tie to the piece remaining on my jacket, and it has served me well. Good luck!Telomere wrote:Just let it ALL hang out (and catch some wind)El Diabro wrote:So, is there anywhere in Fort Worth to get my zipper replaced on my leathers? Why have 6 gears on a motorcycle when I can exceed the posted speed limit in first?

Re: Leather Repair
Most of it is still attached. Just the end broke off. The metal zipper is partially covered with rubber and it broke in half. Go figure. User error, I guess.

Re: Leather Repair
Just saw a new post over on MotoDFW with some new suggestions for leather repair. I've updated the first post.
