July 19 and 20 EXTRAVAGANZA

Post by CrazyKuban » Sat Jun 21, 2008 9:16 pm

Hey guys Ride Smart is going BIG, with a two day event at ECR. Both days for $200, or $100 per each day. They have also extended their hours by 2 hours so the track will be open from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

In addition to this great deal on a track day/school, we (FWMR) we will be setting up camp there and providing burgers and cold drinks(non-alcoholic) for the whole weekend.

We will also be hosting a drawing for a free track day as well as running a raffle for a set of tires. We plan to have a drawing and a raffle each day.

And possibly the best addition will be parade laps at lunch time led by Darc Shadow and other club members.

Lets show up and rock the house, and have a great time at the track. See you all there, and remember we are putting Fort Worth Riders on the Map, so lets show them that we can ride and be safe at the same time.

P.S Please post up if you are planning in going, so we can have a closer idea of how much food we have to prepare. Thank you all for the support.

Hey, quick question. Is this party/cook out starting the night before? Or is this going on Saturday and Sunday?

Saturday/Sunday only. Some of us will be there the night before to setup the location, but the cooking will be for lunch on both days. If anybody decides to camp out we could set something up for breakfast also.

Ok, we're working on plans for a tire raffle, free track day drawings, and parade laps at lunch time, led by me in the Viper.

For the parade lap, bike/vehicles will need to be in good working order. Bikers will need good street gear, long pants, helmet, jacket, gloves, boots/good shoes.

I'd like to see as many members as possible there at some point through out the day helping with promoting the club, fixing food, answering questions, etc.

We also need a grill or two, ezups (Ever is bringing his, but an extra 1 or 2 would be good).

If you have a grill or ezup we could use but you won't be able to make it, contact me and we'll work out a way some one can stop by and pick it up from you.

Lets really make this a big thing. If you surf any other forums, bike or car, post up there about this event and invite them out to see the track and get a chance to drive around it.

Just realized I'm going to be in New York for yet another *(%@#$ing wedding that weekend. ARGGGGGG. This one sounds like a blast, too.

You can remove my name from the trackday raffle, as well... :(

That sucks. You could just tell them you can't make the wedding, last minute work emergency or something. :-)

I will bring my grill for the occasion. If I am unable to make it for some reason, my grill will still be available. but I'll let you guys know so someone else can bring it. Also I've got Firewa11's EZ Up and he said it can go with the grill to the track day excursion.

Thanks, Blizz. Just let us know if you can't make it and we'll arrange a pick up.

okay, its official. I will not be able to make this extravaganza. The grill and Firewa11s EZ up will need to be picked up from my house the week before. PM me and we can set up arrangements.

The billboard flasher thingy looks awesome, but there are 2 errors I saw.

1. the dates - you have an extra capital letter in July 20

2. Dave's name - isnt his last name Wonders, not Cook? I thought that was what made a Wonder Burger a Wonder Burger.

Sunday

Just out of curiousity, is there a ride planned out to visit/watch/suppport for those of us who are not participating in the track day?
I thought it would make for a nice ride out there and was planning on coming out to watch on Sunday morning so perhaps if anyone wants to get together and head out that day shoot me a PM and we can head out together.

Robert.

Hi guys, currently we have a few vehicles that will be carrying most of the equipment and supplies that we need, but we still need another two pick up trucks to carry some other things. Is there anybody out there that is going to the event that could volunteer some bed space to carry some club stuff? Thank you all for the help and the support.

Not sure if there will be a ride or not, there will be a lot of us out at the track, including several of the ride leaders. I think the majority of us are going to be riding on Saturday, not sure about Sunday.

unfortunally most of the ride leaders are either going to be at the track already or can't make it for various reasons, so we won't have an official ride. But please feel free to organize a group through PMs and email. The more people we can get at the track the better.

And don't forget the parade laps, a chance to ride around the track a few times for free.

If it's anything like CMRA, it'll be during / after lunch. And if it's anything like CMRA parade laps, you can ride your bicycle and keep up with the pace  :-)

I've signed up for Saturday, so I'll for sure be there Friday evening and Saturday.

I haven't heard an offical word from Dave yet but I'm expecting it to be during lunch time when the corner workers are eat.

As for the speeds, I'll be leading the laps in the Viper, on Saturday anyway, not sure about Sunday yet. I plan to lead the laps at reasonable speeds while still trying to keep everything safe and fun.
