Sputter at start up

Post by Sneeki2 » Fri Nov 21, 2008 9:22 am

I'm getting a slight sputter just as I come off the clutch and gas it from a stop. I don't get it all the time, but it's annoying. Also when I fire it up in the morning sometimes it will sputter for about 3-5 seconds before it idles normally.

My bike is an 06 fuel injected FZ1. I'm not sure if its just that I need a new air cleaner (I hope). I've also been told I may need to sync the throttle bodies. Short of changing the plugs and wires, are there any other ideas? :-o

The FZ1 board is down so you guys are my safety net. Thanks for any help you guys might provide.

Might be worth checking the fuel filter as well.

Will do. At first I thought I may have gotten some bad gas or water in the tank.

Thanks.

ditto on the plugs and definitly change the air filter first before doing anything else and see if that improves it.
