Unofficial Off-Week Bike Night - The Pour House - 7/15/10

Post by sckego » Mon Jul 12, 2010 1:40 pm

Thursday, July 15 isn't one of our "normal" bike nights, but we are going to do an unofficial bike night get-together at The Pour House in Fort Worth. We're not expecting as big a crowd as normal, and if you have to choose between one of the other, we'd rather you come out to the regular bike night at F&H in two weeks time. But, if you're hanging around this Thursday with nothing to do, feel free to come by The Pour House and hang out for a while.

The Pour House is located just west of downtown Fort Worth on 7th Street,, across the street and a bit west from the big Montgomery Plaza building. If you're coming from the east, you can get off the freeway in downtown and get on 7th Street, and just take that across the river. Or, from either direction, take I-30 and exit University Drive northbound, then make a right (east) on 7th.

I've never been there, and so have no idea what the parking situation is like... but I guess we'll find out in a few days. Hope to see you guys there!

Thursday is also Ladies/College night. From my first 'check out', it sounds like there should be some eye candy looking for rides 'around the block'. Parking is sparse, but they're willing to work with us and lay out the area in front of the patio or to the east of the club. Amy and I went there last night for dinner and it is NOT typical bar food or going next door for tacos ... the chef there is top notch and you can get bar food or a REALLY good meal. This is one of the places that the 'other half' would probably be comfortable and enjoy her/him self.

Management is Biker Friendly and the layout may work for the club. I'll come in the Viper since I don't have a replacement yet.

Worth checking out and if you're free, drop by.

I was talking to G3 the other day, and he said that he swung by and checked it out. Not sure if they're going to have a specific area blocked off for us to park, but if not, he suggested that we try and park over on the east (downtown) side of the building, as there are some tables right there where we can sit. Just something to keep in mind if you're one of the early showers-up.

Hey Kegan, the map link is now showing the old location on 5th street. Not sure why it changed. Well, it's putting the pointer on the old location.

My opinion of the place is heavily influenced by the approach angle of the west driveway ... HUNG UP the Viper to the point that I couldn't go forward any more without using the HP it has to offer. :-o :( No leaking fluids, but it hurt my feelings.

Without special consideration, I don't think PH is going to work out due to parking. Waitress was hot and the management was attentive and wanting to make it work though. If you get there before 7, you can get a great deal ... I had 3 beers and Calimari for a little over $10!
