Tire repair kit

Post by fixxervi6 » Thu Sep 22, 2011 10:04 am

Can anyone suggest a good tire repair kit for long hauls?

Looking for inexpensive, small, light, but effective for the purpose of if I get stuck in BFE I can at least get back to civilization to get a new tire.

These guys seam to make some nice ones but wanted to see what everyone else was using.

I carry a kit I bought at Target I think. It's pretty much like that one without the CO2 fillers. I have a little hand pump I carry instead.

The main thing is to just have something to plug tubeless tires and something to get some air in the tire so you can limp to somewhere.

I ended up going with a genuine inovations kit that has 45 gram CO2 cartiges.

When I used to be a mountain bike fiend I had a hand pump kit, took for - freaking -ever to pump up a mountain bike tire. I had a Co2 kit and pow one shot and its fully inflated in 2 seconds.

So I have a throttle dealio, pressure gauge, tire kit, saddle bags on order. I don't think I need much else.

Tampons are the most effective for removing liquid that isnt supposed to be there that you cant reach with a rag!! I have two in my tool kit and have used them to remove water from the fuel filler area under the seat of Red!

This tire kit was featured in Sport Rider (something I picked up to read on the plane). Good article, good test, looks like a good product.

You are missing some things...Rag, rope, ether, latex gloves
:HeadScratch: I guess zip ties would work.

You can bring them but I will have to find a sitter so the kids aren't around.
