Firewa11 wrote:Your point is a bit skewed with regards to drugs. Comparing limited legalization of certain controlled substances to making it legal to drive drunk are not in the same category. Alcohol consumption is absolutely legal, have fun with it, especially in a private home. I believe that a few currently controlled substances can and should be treated in the same manner. Legalizing marijuana for example isn't saying it's legal to DRIVE while under the influence.
The only thing I am making a comparason of is the fact that you basically loose the ability to make the decision to drive in a responsible maner when drinking. I know people that have been drinking and driving for years and have yet to be caught or had an accident. But one day it will happen. The same applies to drugs. If you are strung out on crack you have lost the ability to choose your actions responsibly and with good judgement. Now pot I would not argue with being legalized as it has been proven to be less of a problem than drinking. Other drugs just cause to many problems. Even taking something like steroids which really does not cause any real problems other than getting pissed off easy. If you was to legalize it then sure it would be each persons choice if they wanted to destroy their body with it but it would also force alot of athletes to take it if they wanted to stay competitive. They would not have a choice other than finding another line of work....... if you dont want to talk about the other problems that drugs bring about lets just talk about one simple one. People being forced one way or the other to take them. I am sure there would be no physical force involved but...... you have guy a that does not take drugs and gets tired after a 12 hour day or 16. Then you have guy B which takes Meth and can litteraly work 24 or more hours without slowing down ... hell without taking a break. As a business you would be stupid not to hire guy B as you can get more out of him and after all he is not doing anything illegal. Go even farther and if it is legal then the military will start using it to enhance troops..... hell they wont even give the choice to go find something else to do because you have a contract. They will tell you to take it or get dishonorable discharge after brig time. I am just saying.

The military has been actively giving 'stims' or 'uppers' to pilots for a long, long time.

Anthrax can be found just about anywhere...soil (in small amounts but also in sheep wool. Farmers have been known to get anthrax from working with sheep and not any terrorist unless the sheep are the terrorist :HeadScratch:

What I was refering to was the shots they gave us to "protect us from it". I was ok with it myself but had several buddies spend time in the brig for refusing.

Yeah, I got a series of shots but I'll be damned if I know what I received from them. I am still alive and do not have anything terminal.

Same here. No big deal to me because I was one of the ones that said .... "well it has to be safe if they are giving it to us" ROFL.

IF my dad (served in the Vietnam Conflict) is still alive, then the stuff they inject you with, can't be all that bad :)

I highly doubt my dad was sprayed with agent orange because he was in intelligence.

No, from my understanding...he was a spy or something like that...but he won't really talk about it (guess be it is military intelligence). He served from '71-'75.

I always thought military intelligence was a contradiction in terms. :)

In Vietnam my dad was an illiuminator... one of them crazy bastards that hung out the back of the then classified C-130 gunship kicking flares out the back (they didn't have night vision back then so they had to use parachute flares to light up their targets).

We still use the same kinda thing Firewall.... not everyone can have night vision so .... we use artillery to shoot white phosphorus rounds with a parachute attached to light up the battlefield.
