I put miles right there with Firewa11. 3 banger might as well be a vespa.

Well by the time they get my new bike in I might be keeping the 14 and the BMW. They told me yesterday it might take till mid July to get my bike in.

Yeah, you picked a bad time to look for a S1000RR. They have a pretty serious (as in, have to rebuild the engine) recall on their hands.

I found out for sure yesterday that the recall was the connecting rod bolts. They have to take them out put new locktite on them then retorque them and put the oil pan back on. From what I understand .... and if it is anything like a car it makes sense.... all they have to do is remove the oil pan to get to the bolts in question.

They still have to pull the engine to get to the oil pan. I've also heard that it isn't as simple as just pulling the oil pan, so who knows. I don't know how those engines are put together.

Yes they do have to pull the engine but that has to be done for other stuff as well and is something that gets done kinda often. As far as the oil pan part ..... I am just going off what a car would have done but it might be more than that. I think they where saying that it would take a full day to pull the engine, do the repairs, and put it back in. I will check into it more. If it is to serious I might revisit the 2012 zx14 and go that route. I can have that bike tomorrow.
