Re: Need some opinions.
the cheap one! Just buy an evaporation vest. Either way you will sweat enough to have one on. At each stop i put mine in a baggie and pour a bottle of water to "recharge it". It works wonders!!!! Worth every penny and more, it's like having AC! Plus there isn't any hard things on it so you can't get hurt if you go down by it.

That is one piece of gear where I doubt that you're going to find any significant differences. Just swing by Cycle Gear and pick up whatever they have, they should all roughly work the same.
They do make a difference, although I personally don't find them to be the miracle item that they are sometimes made out to be. On the track, I can feel the presence of that vest for about three laps, then it feels just as hot as it would without it. They are dirt cheap though, so there is no reason to not have one.

Cheap evap (I paid $14 for mine) and mesh. soak it down and ride. I notice it actually functions better when it's hotter.
This Saturday the temps aren't going to be too bad, so I'm not breaking out the evap just yet.

Yeah, start with the cheap stuff and if that doesn't do it for you then look into the higher priced stuff. Unless you just have money to throw around and want to jump straight into the hi end stuff.
Evap vest is really nice, although you do end up a bit wet. It also helps if you have well ventulated gear. My leathers are so perforated a small bug could pass through them so the evap works great with my suit. Others though, that have little to no perforation the evap vest just kind of keeps you wet. In general, so long as you're moving you'll be fine. It's the stops that kill you.

If it's not hot enough to actually get fast evaporation going, to me it just feels wet.milesmiles wrote:you can bet i'll have mine on! The way i see it is if i don't wear it i will sweat enough that i might as well have it on

Re: Need some opinions.
It's not really heat that does it, it's dryness. On that note, If it is a really humid day, the evap vest doesn't really do much.
