Moderate Ride - Saturday June 30th

Post by DarcShadow » Mon Jun 25, 2012 9:48 am

The club has adopted a section of FM 5 for cleanup and club members will be doing a cleaning this Saturday. Once the cleanup is done I will lead a short ride.

The ride will start in Aledo, at the school on the corner of FM 1187 and FM 5. We will leave at noon and will probably only be about 2 to 3 hours. If you'd like to come out and help with the road clean you are more then welcome to join us. Clean up will start at 9:00.

We have adopted two miles of FM5 we typically break up into 4 groups, and each group will walk 1 mile on the side of the road picking up the trash. The more people we have, the more groups we can break up into, and the less space each group has to cover.

From Fort Worth, Take I20 west and then 1187 South. 1187 runs through Aledo and into FM 5, where the school is.

Up to you, all the people we can get helps and you can even follow us to lunch if you want. We would certainly enjoy more company. No biggie if you can't make it

We do have gloves, but they may not fit you the best so if you have something bring it, but not 100% necessary. It's also suggest you wear long pants (if you're riding you should be anyway) and drink plenty of water. We'll have a cooler with water in the truck so you shouldn't have a problem there either.

Big thanks to Fish for helping with the AAH also. The AAH is a club thing and we appreciate new people helping out even though they're not a full member. Thanks.
