July 4 FM4 Blast - Moderate (mostly slabbing it)

Post by Rhino » Mon Jul 02, 2012 8:39 am

July 4 I'm leading a very quick blast over to FM4. This is probably just going to be straight down I-30/I-20, but if anybody wants to tag along they're welcome to. Going straight there and back, probably not stopping until Weatherford / Mineral Wells.

If another ride leader wants to post up a more interesting ride for the 4th, feel free, I'm just heading out with Miles and making it an official run.

Meet at Sonic, leaving at 9am sharp.

(DarcShadow Edit)
I'll step up and lead a longer ride. We'll slab it out to 4 so miles can do his thing and then I'll continue the ride on after he has to split. We'll stop some place for lunch and should be back in the Fort Worth area around 3:00 or so.

I've got no idea where FM 4 goes, but I'm in as long as I can make it to work by 1.

The fun part? Haha I'll let the ride leader speak up. In the mean time please introduce yourself in the introduction section. We would love to hear about you

To me the fun part starts just north of I-20 and ends just north of Palo Pinto.

If I were to attempt to join in on this ride would I be able to meet up with the group at the intersection of hwy 4 & I-20?

Depends on where Miles left his sack. My plan is I-20 to FM4, so if you wanted to wait you could join up when we went by.

Gracie's Grill...County Seat Grocery Grill and Motel. I guess they try to get everything in, in one shot ...except for gas, which now has Beer to go on a banner above the tanks. Maybe you should see if there is actually beer in the tanks. :D

I edited the initial post. I'll go ahead and continue the ride after miles does his thing and then heads home. Not sure on an exact route but we'll stop for lunch some place and should probably be back to the Fort Worth area around 3, maybe 4. Pace will still be a moderate so all are welcome.

NoobSH, if you want to join us on the way, gas station in Santo would be a good choice, we'll probably be passing by there between 9:45 and 10:00. It'll be a good stop and stretch point after slabbing it out there anyway.

Yeah, let's plan on a stop at the Santo gas station. That's right before the good twisty bits too, so everybody can stretch and freshen their brains up before hitting that.

I might be in, DS is the continued ride a moderate?

What time would departure be, and what is the planned arrival time at the sack location?

BTW, anyone going on the ride that smokes cigars? I've got a No. 3 Cuban Romeo Y Julieta I can bring along. Free to anyone that wants it. I'm not a cigar smoker. Complements of my friends in the sandbox.

Bad news. The collar that holds the exhaust pipe up to the bike that was halfway broken on the last ride is nearly all the way broken. Zip ties ain't gonna cut it no mo. I've got another one on the way, but unless it gets here tomorrow, I won't be able to make it.
