Add me to the spreadsheet for sat lvl1. I also met a first timer out there on the 8th who was a great guy and really enjoyed it. I'll give him a call to see if I can get him out there.

Hopefully if you're the guy I saw riding down beltline heading south just before 30 you wear more gear at the trackday

I'm confused. Not sure why you would think that was me but it wasn't. I never ride down beltline....haven't ridden much on the road infact since I started riding on the track. I always wear boots, helmet, jacket , and gloves at minimum.

I notice you've got some pretty good GPS lag, is that using the internal GPS?

Check out the QSTARZ 818XT, I did a datalogger run and the speed and stuff was silky smooth like the stuff you see for races. You can jack into it and tell it how often to check and log a line of data. I set mine to 5 times a second on my SII and it worked like a champ, now that I have a faster phone I'll proabably try it again with 10 times a second to see how that works out.

I got the Bad Elf external antenna. It runs at 10Hz while the gps in the video uses the internal antenna - 1Hz. Huge difference

Very nice. This is the first I have seen something like this. Just curious, how did you integrate the speed, track location, etc into the video like that? what components are necessary? I assum a video camera, gps receiver...but I don't know what else.

I'm using android + track master with external GPS receiver.

The app logs posistion and all of that, the dashboard software creates the map from XY points etc.

Shaun your teaching level 1? I would love for you to get video like that of/for me. If you are teaching level 1 I will request you and probably just stick with level 1.

I need to find someone to let me use their gopro for Sunday. I really need to purchase another one.

DD, I'm teaching L2 Sat but I'll grab you for an eval lap to move you up to L2, that is if another instructor doesnt beat me to it. Then I can follow/lead you to get some video, and you'll be much better off in L2.

ACtually I dont know for sure yet. I havent been assigned for sunday because I signed up late. Chances are I'll be doing L2 though. However I can go out with L1 whenever necessary as I'm not lead instructor. And after the first session or 2 we'll have spaces open up for you to move into L2.

Just an FYI, UNT has a football game tomorrow at 6pm. I do not know how this will affect traffic. If there is traffic around that area, this is what it is from.

YAY!!!! they moved me to level 2 from the waiting list. Shaun I will request you as my instructor for level 2 Sunday but I will not be at the track till about 930. Not sure how this will all work out but wanted to give you heads up.
