"RideSmarts very own ARC instructor Brandt Dillon Qualified for the AMA superbike filed this weekend at NOLA and I thought it would be fun to watch the races and cheer on a local good guy! I'm planning on being there around 12:30 the races start at 1:00, the Allen Wickers has usually been pretty good about giving us a TV even during football season. Hope to see you there!"

For those who missed this, Brandt Dillon (CMRA #717) placed 14th out of 16 in SuperBike race 1, and 11th out of 16 in race 2. Other CMRA racers competing in AMA included Danny Kelsey (CMRA #1), who placed 15th out of 30 in Daytona SportBike race 1 and 15th out of 29 in race 2, and Derek Wagnon (CMRA #111), who came in as 25th out of 30 in Daytona SportBike race 1, and 21st out of 29 in race 2.

Holy crap. I just looked at the standings, Brandt's best lap was 6 seconds off the winner's best lap, and he finished 3 laps behind the guy in front of him. Did he have some kind of issue, or did he really get lapped 3 times by the next guy in the course of 18 laps?

He had a mechanical in race 1, which put him further behind. Things went more smoothly in race 2, which narrowed the gap accordingly.

Oh good. I was worried that he somehow qualified but was still 3 laps off pace.
