The Tail of the Dragon

Post by ninja zx10r » Wed Mar 21, 2007 12:04 am

The Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap, with 318 curves in 11 miles, is America ’s number one motorcycle and sports car road. The nearby Cherohala Skyway is quickly becoming number two with its remote 60 miles of scenic mountain highway. The area also has other roads less traveled, but just as exciting.
Come and discover them all.

Something seriously unsafe about allowing an 18 wheeler
on tight roads as the Gap without following a flag vehicle way ahead...

There is something very wrong about it ...

Good videos

Yeah, I've heard that the road itself is getting tore up in the corners by cruisers grinding pegs, not to mention the 18-wheelers and such. If they would close off the road for sportbikes only, starting out in groups every XX minutes, that would be super sweet!

Deals Gap? Been there .. done that.. lol

I grew up at the Gap....
When a semi truck comes through now because of the popularity of the road... if any regulars are up there one of them will escort the truck across the mountain to warn oncoming traffic.
