Re: ECR - March
Are your tires more than 50% worn DD? If so change them before you go. But Whoopie will be there offering tire changing services if the worst happens. Get there early though - he's always busy.

Looks like you need to hold a spot for at least 10 bikes, when you head up there tonight.milesmiles wrote:So I'be already got two bikes in the back of my truck. Re: ECR - March
I'm not going tonight. Only reason we loaded yesterday was to make sure we could fit two bikes. It gave us time to find a new plan if we had to

Re: ECR - March
Well, you might as well go unload tonight since you have 3 bikes sitting in the bed of your truck. That makes for some nice bike thief bait.milesmiles wrote:I'm not going tonight. Yeah, but can his truck fit in the garage with bikes in the bed? Mine won't clear the garage door.Stardog84 wrote:Miles can has garage.
Re: ECR - March
Oh, we can make it fit. There might be some ripping and tearing, but by god it'll go in.

Re: ECR - March
Not real sure because I didn't look at a clock. Not long at all and now that we know how to load two bikes it won't take any time. The tailgate even shuts!

Damn, that's nice to have a bed long enough to be able to shut the tailgate. The bed in my old Silverado was shy by about an inch, so the only way I could get the tailgate to shut was by deflating the rear tire.

Re: ECR - March
Cool. I was worried that it was a big production that you'd have to do again at the end of the track day.
How did you tie them down so they won't bonk each other?
Only time I ran into issues was when the front tire wasn't in a groove in the bed and I had compressed both ends of the suspension, making the wheel base too long. Otherwise no problem.

Ford FTW. My F150 has no problems with a sport bike. 6 1/2 foot bed is enough.Firewa11 wrote:Damn, that's nice to have a bed long enough to be able to shut the tailgate. Re: ECR - March
It did take us a bit to figure out the tie down points, but loading after the track won't be bad at all. Just have to work it right. They are tied down really well and they don't move down at all. I'm really happy with how it worked out, because at first I didn't think we could make it happen. Nice fit

If you get a chance, will you take pics? If you've figured out a good system, I could maybe use that in the future.

Re: ECR - March
They have about a foot between them and 6in on the sides. They don't budge at all. Straps slight touch the tires going across, but it doesn't hurt anything.

Re: ECR - March
Yep ill take some pics. Tie down points in the middle would have made it easier, but it works so well this way I'm not worried about installing them for next time

Probably. 7-715. I sure hope someone gets there sooner and takes up several good spots

Re: ECR - March
I think ECR is a little more difficult to find the group..I was just wanting someone to post up on the boards where y'all are at so everyone else knows where to meet up. Somehow, a few spots will need to be hogged until everyone gets there. I am not worried about parking the truck at the bottom. I just want to make sure all 9-10 of us riding can hang together (although the majority of y'all are in L2).

That is if it is still empty by the time my slacking rear end gets out of bed and hits the road.
