Coming out of Hibernation

Post by 111 » Mon Mar 18, 2013 10:37 pm

Maybe this isn't the best place to post this, but I haven't been around lately so here it is. The bad new is I have to work late Tues & Thurs through April so I might not get make it to bike night for a while. The good news is I changed jobs a few weeks ago and I am no longer in downtown Dallas but I am in downtown Fort Worth so it should be easier to make it.

I looked around on the forum and I figured someone would have posted info about going to COTA in April, but I didn't see anything other than general talk. I just bought grand stand tickets a few minutes ago. I will be out there Saturday and Sunday and probably staying in a hotel since the wife is going. let me know if anyone is going or wants to meet up.

Also, I don't really want to keep taking my street bike to the tack if possible. I've got my eye out for an inexpensive track bike if anyone knows of one or comes by one. I am still pretty new to the track riding as well so if anyone has suggestions on what to look for or watch out for please let me know. I am thinking i can find something decent for 2-3K...does that sound realistic?

Thanks guys and hope to see you soon.

Nice to see your back & the money that your talking about should get you a good track bike. If I see one in that price range I will send you a link.

There are several of us going to the races in April. Most of that discussion has been taking place in the members only section though.

9pm so I can probably drop by for a little while. I wasn't sure if many people would still be around

We are getting a hosue that is about 40 miles from the track. We have the house Thursday night through Monday morning. The house has 5 bedrooms, with total of 7 beds (various sizes). If you'd like to join us we've had a couple people cancel on us and room. Cost is about $180 per person. Since you're only going to be there 2 nights is might be cheaper for you to get a hotel but if not you're welcome to join us.

I ended up finding a bike for the track. 02 r6 from a guy stationed in Fort hood. only needed a new battery and maybe a chain. So I should be out on the track soon and I plan on being at the next bike night.
