When I went on vacation with a buddy of mine, we spent one day on comms with 3 people.

I didn't want to spend a 2nd day.

It's great for something like lead/tail comms, but I will never get on party chat in a big ride.

Jim, Rick, and I did 3 days on comms and it was great.

I like it because let's face it .... many of us spend more time riding with members than talking. Its nice to talk about shit....and talk shit about people not on chat lol

With a small group it's not bad. Too many and it can get annoying.

Like Darc said, the first person gets dropped. We tried this on the memorial day ride. Were you not on that ride? Did you not pair up? Do you not remember Fixxer getting dropped but myself and Polokid in on the convo when we had no intention of talking to y'all???? Geez, it must be hard getting old :D

ROFL I believe that we need to experiment more on this.... I believe we simply did it wrong on the Memorial day ride. If I link to 2 people then try to link to another I understand dropping the first person that I linked with. But if nobody was to try to link to more than 2 people then I dont see why anyone would get dropped. Of course I am not as tech savvy as much of the group is and I have to see how it all works to be able to understand. I will try and do some research so I dont have to bother yall with it though...... if it wont connect more than 4 then I NEED to know exactly why and what it is that stops it.

The firmware stops it. It's programmed to work that way.

From a technical standpoint, it probably has to do with bluetooth bandwidth. Each person chews up some amount, it may be that you technically *could* add 6 people but the sound quality would suck.

Ah, see you're talking about something different there. A unit can only be paired with 3 other units. But nothing is documented about a unit communicating to another unit via a common 3rd unit pairing. That would be something to try.

The test would be:
A & B are paired
B & C are paired

A initiates a comm link with B
C initiates a comm link with B
Does B act as a bridge or will it only hold one comm link at a time.

Actually, come to think of it, I think that's how we typically pair the units anyway so maybe we can chain together more than 4 units.

It is how we pair now... and if B gets seperated then A&C can not talk. That is why I was thinking something like this would work.

A & B
B & C
C & D
which is as far as we have gone but what if we do a
D & E
that would make 5 and on from there.

Anyone have a problem with their unit turning off right after you turn it on when the phone it is paired with is nearby? When I turn my sena on it says hellow, the red light blinks and then it turns off. Oddly, my phone has the bluetooth icon active indicating it's connected to a headset. Turn the sena on again and the phone indicates the sena has been disconnected. Sometimes it'll reconnect and be good but more often then not the sena turns off again. Do this 3 or 4 more times and it'll eventually get connected with the phone and stay turned on.

I'm guessing it's some weird problem with my phone, but I wouldn't think the Sena would just turn off.

That is award... never had mine do that. Try clearing all paired devices and re-pair with the phone.

I've seen that when the battery is low, basically the Sena's have to live on the charger unless your using them.

Don't think it's a bettery thing, it flashes 4 red indicating a high charge. And if the phone is turned off or the bluetooth disabled the sena powers on and works just fine. If I then turn the phone bluetooth on and hit the phone button on the sena it will beep once and turn off some times, or beep twice and connect to the phone.
