Re: Mesh pants
There are actually 2 Bilt mesh pants that cost $89. One has more mesh that the other . I know because I tried both types today, ultimately the one with more mesh was the one I chose

Re: Mesh pants
I have something a little different, and strangely enough, it's been really comfortable so far. I bought some Bilt Kevlar jeans that had pads in the knees (on sale, like $69). The knee pads were HOT and useless, though the jeans are much more beefy than normal jeans, and would provide a good big more abrasion resistance. They also zip to a jacket.
Since then, I've also added Bohn Armor under armor. Basically a full Lycra "pant" (think leotard-ish) with pockets for CE armor. This actually fits under normal jeans (as long as you're not wearing skin-tight of course), and are very comfortable. Tailbone, hip, side thigh and knee/high shin protection, without interfering with boots. Between the jeans and the armor, it feels very substantial and works really well with my Tourmaster mesh armored jacket.
I actually wore them for about 12 hours recently, early when cold, sitting in the bike shop for a few hours, walking down the street a few blocks, and then riding back when warm and stayed comfortable the entire day.
