TCFPA Back 2 School Carnival

Post by Dragonfly » Tue Jul 09, 2013 8:49 pm

I got this email from TCFPA , and wanted to pass it along to you guys.

Hello Benny,

My name is Heather Gregory the Communications Coordinator for TCFPA. You've been communicating with Valissa Armstrong on providing school supplies for our foster kids. I'm currently working on putting the event together and Valissa and Daphne wanted me to send you the list of items that we will need for the kids.

Supplies Needed: paper, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, pencil bags/pencil boxes and composition note books. **We are planning for 30-40 kids**

TCFPA will host a Back 2 School Carnival on Saturday,August 3rd from 10 AM - 1 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church (Fellowship Hall) Baker Blvd. Richland Hills,TX 76118

We will have food, face painting and games for the kids. If you guys are available we would love for you to volunteer at the gaming booths.

I would like for our club members to support this cause. We could each purchase a back pack, a pkg of paper, a box of crayons, a box of pencils to donate to this cause.

We can bring these items to a special Bike Night on August 1st at Fox & Hound @ 7:00pm. If you would like to make a donation and can't make this bike night please get with a staff member before this date.

I picked up 4 backpacks and some supplies. I'll bring with me to the Aug. 1st bike night.

If anyone would like to donate school supplies and/or back packs but can't make it to this bike night, get with me and I'll make arrangements to get your donations picked up.
Thank you.

I found a box of about 200 pencils that were from the 2010 Census stuff I had. You are welcome to them.

No they are not and that is why I buy the pack the school sells. It is cheaper then buying it separately on my own.

Hats? I am guessing you meant pack.

Elementary schools sells school supplies pack that includes everything they need except their planner. I just bought Eric's first grade school supplies for $30. Back when Court and Cait were in elementary school, I took their list to the store and spent at least $100 on school supplies and the stores didn't have everything on the list either! I have since opted to pre-purchase the school supply pack from the school's PTA (new students can purchase it when the register and returning students pre-purchase at the end of the school year for the following school year). Very convenient. :)

Will we be making this an "unofficial" bike night to bring the school supplies for the kids?
