Anyone need a good "over suit"?

Post by LonestarCBR » Mon Aug 25, 2014 4:53 am

Motorcycle Superstore "deal of the day". Looks like a great solution for those who ride to work and need something for colder/wetter weather to get you there, over your work clothes, or of course for riding in general.

That's a heck of a good price.

I have the Olympia one-piece, it's also fantastic. Really too hot to wear in the summer though.

Yep, I'm kind of iffy on winter gear...but I'm saving my pennies for something else.

I'm still thinking about the cool shirt with the back pack.

Well kiss my ass...that's pretty darn sweet. Pricey, but sweet. Wonder if it will work over the hump on the back of a leather suit. Know anyone that owns one?

Look like a good idea, operative word being looks. I have one question. How much does it weigh?

All I saw in it description is, it's light weight, which to me is really vague and kinda subjective. It holds 4 quarts of liquid/water, which is the same as a gallon. A gallon of water weighs a little over 8 lbs. Plus the weight of the circulation pump and the vest itself, conservative estimate of 3 to 4 lbs. You're looking at carrying and extra 12 lbs of weight. I'm thinking how much more work is it going to be to lug around an extra 12 lbs, when you are already doing something as physically demanding as riding a motorcycle.

I'd love to have one of those for mowing the yard. :) Not sure I'd want to wear it on the track, but it'd be nice to put on between track sessions. Might be ok for long rides but I'm not generally a fan of any sort of backpack while riding. Suppose you could go with the portably cooler option and strap it to the tail of the bike, but then you'd be connected to your bike.

It would also serve as a mondo back protector.
