Post by GSXRRider » Tue Apr 24, 2007 10:48 am

I will be hosting an intermediate ride on May 5th.
I have not figured out the route but was thinking of heading north to Sheman. We havn’t gone there in a long while.

Please be ready to pull out of Sonic at 9AM.

to all new members,

it is recommended that all new members of the group participate in a moderate ride prior to participating in an intermidiate ride. do NOT ride beyond your limitation and remember we all have to trust each other out there so we do not need any unsafe conditions. hope to see you all out there may 5th.

Meatball AVI is right on what he posted. If you have not been on a moderate ride or rides. I would suggest you stay at the house for this one. Unless someone posts up they will do a moderate along with the intermediate. But so far looks like a intermediate only.

Unless something changes... IN.

We have a lot of new folks so thanks for pointing it out.

Intermediates...especially mine are no joke.

This is not the place to learn how to ride, figure out how to stay in a group or take a political stand on not speeding.

this will be safe as long as you ride your ride.

I generally ride fast through the corners then slow in the straights for everyone to group up again.

We don't want accidents but we want fun. Thats the line don't go over :-D

At the same time this is not balls to the wall squid fest. It is a controlled fun kinda fast ride.

I'd love to join but haven't gone on a mod ride with any of y'all. I'm pretty certain I can hang, but have no problem turning around if I can't. Anyone have any input?

Drew,
Even for the most experienced riders, we ask that you do at least one or two Moderate rides with us first. Riding fast isn't the whole deal... you also have to understand and ride with our style in groups. We don't go out to race on Intermediate and Advanced rides ... the pace just picks up quite a bit. I'm sure you and your Duc can keep up, but ALL of our rides are about being safe and knowing what the other person is going to do whenever possible.

For anyone thinking about joining up and following (note that I said FOLLOWING, not CHASING) Terry on this ride, if you haven't ridden with us on at least one MODERATE ride AND have a ride leader vouching for you, enjoy the weather on a less spirited course this weekend.

We have set up these guidelines for safety's sake and they have worked pretty well for all concerned.

what is your riding experience and of that how long have you been group riding? it is highly recommended of the group to go on a mod ride first to evaluate you, to see what kind of riding style you have and if you pose any danger to fellow members should the notch be turned up to high. prior to coming here i had been riding 5 years and of those five years about 3 were consistantly with groups. ill admit my first FWMR ride was an intermediate. it all comes down to the person on that bike, and the person leading the ride. we are all out her to have fun and not cause any danger to anyone else. we are all a family here and as goes with any family, we have to know we can trust you. sorry so long winded. keep the rubber side down.

OK, So maybe I DID preach a little too much a little while ago!

REALLY wanted to do this one, but the new house is getting in the way. May have to miss it, so if I'm not there at pull out time, head out without me. :(

Terry, if you can PM me with the intended route, I may be able to get a few hours of fun in along with all the 'responsibilities'.

Saturday does look to be a nice day. Either way, if it is bright and shiny out I will meet you guys for riding, but if it gets rainy I will be out at Alpine shooting some clay.

I'm looking forward to this one. Plus I got my communicator back from Collett and I want to see how it works now.
