I think they may have lost more than a rocket. Looks like they'd launch a little further away from all of their other infrastructure.

Well here's the problem.

The first stage rocket made use of an Ukrainian design, based loosely on the Zenit Rocket that was developed by the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau. I'd be nervous of anything designed by a bureau. Then to top it off the engines are reconditioned NK-33 engines left over from a cancelled Soviet Union rocket that was abandoned in the early 70's after all four test flights failed.

I'm surprised the first four launches of the Antares worked.

Biggest loss, isn't just the rocket, but the payload. How much was the payload worth?
