but I hope to be able to contribute something here eventually. I'm old and slow and I still haven't taken the ERC (I need to get to that) and my interests
are currently more toward the road touring and adventure /dual-sport side of motorcycling. I raced motocross in my youth (Husky 250 ; CZ400)
and I still occasionally have vivid dreams of going over jumps (they are much much higher jumps in my dreams than they ever were in real life, I'm
not sure what that's about. Maybe a variant of the ubiquitous falling dream? ). I hope to at least go on some beginner rides and moderate
ones and some meetups. Still I think I'll be the "old guy" compared to most here, that's OK, someone has to be. It's best that the guy
named fartymarty is at the rear of the pack anyway, right? (pity the tail gunner.) I recently found myself leaning to the right of my Concours in right hand turns
so perhaps with some proper training in my future I may become more of an aggressive rider. Time will tell, for now anyway 4.5 mph over the
limit is usually my limit (on pavement), butt crack aligned with the bike's center line and my knees stay well tucked in.
Regardless of my eventual forum/club/group stature, I just zoomed ahead of all those forum members with zero posts.
Interests: Motorcycles; Big Bend N.P.; farting around in the garage (aka woodworking and machining and making crap that'll never work);
movies; travel (by any means, but 2 wheels is best); generally enjoying retirement on a modest budget. (I've also been told that I must enjoy
using parenthesis because I over parenthesize when posting. {however, I disagree.} [
