WoooHooo. Finally, the first local track day of the year! Who will be joining me?

I'll be teaching. I've had a few requests for 1-on-1 so far, in levels 1 and 2. If you would like to work with me exclusively all day please let me know. (50% refund for club members. Non members get 25% refund. That still means you have to pay the standard price for the track day, the extra cost of the 1-on-1 is the only one I can offer a club discount on).
I can also work with 2 people in the 1-on-"1". This of course would be more fun and cost less.

1-on-1 gets preference, but if you don't want to do this and would like me as your preferred instructor, put my name (Shaun) in your signup sheet under "preferred instructor". If no one else wants to do 1-on-1 that day I'm your man. And if you have a SENA I can do video/radio coaching free of charge. If you don't, see if you can borrow one and we'll install it on the day so you can get video with coaching soundtrack.
(We're currently exploring the pricing of this option for regular Ridesmart customers. Its likely to be around $50 extra per day)

Contact me any time if you have questions related to Ridesmart or coaching in general.

Sounds like fun to come watch so I can become a little more familiar with the whole process.

Indeed, that was a blast. Compared to the last time that I rode at ECR (about exactly a year ago), the track felt significantly improved: There were only two turns that had water in them: T2 (off the line) and T6 (on the line). The track is still bumpier than shit, especially in T10.

Still, this was a lot of fun and mucho productive. Let's see what happens next weekend at the races.

It is fun passing on the exit of turn 10 and having the front wheel come up on the bump while you are leaned over. It sets back down and shakes but came back in line every time. I find that a little bit of controlled head shake is more fun than scary.

A former RS instructor did that in front of me. While he was busy carrying his wheelie out of T10, I pulled a pass on him with both wheels on the ground.

T2 is also a common spot for head shakes. I saw one guy recover on the exit of T2 from one of the nastier head shakes that I've seen by completely taking both hands off the handlebar.

I've heard of people doing that. The most unstable thing about a bike in motion is the rider. Ha!

Pretty sure I know who you are talking about. He takes every opportunity to wheelie. I saw him carry one past me for quite some distance. As for feeling awesome for having both wheels down, if you were a real racer you wouldn't even be on that pieced together track. I don't want to hear it.

Doubt I would have the wherewithal to pull both hands off. It seems like engine braking could become an issue but I guess not.

Yep, that's him. Real racers only race at 84 degrees and clear skies. Also, none of this bumpy TX track shit.

Yeah, that was pretty cool. The head shake was pretty violent, and the bike was heading right off the track. As he took his hands off the handlebars, he lifted them way up in the air. The bike settled down almost immediately, so he put his hands back onto the handlebars before it would have ran off the track. I was corner working, and was ready to call in the crash. Amazing safe!
