Yeah, you have to beat your children. I don't mean like black & blue or excessive, but I swear if my parents had just 'talked' to me in a psychological kinda way, I'm sure I'd be way more messed up than I already am 8)

Yeah, I've got no problems with spanking a kid. But there is an age where it's no longer effective.

There's ALSO an age when they might kick YOUR butt! My son and I have talked about that ... as all teenagers seem to get too big for their britches as some point. He has a full understanding of 'you may be bigger ... you may even be stronger ... but you DAMN sure aren't SMARTER!'

Bird - I have a 3 y/o that you can spank and he will cry and then come right back for more. Make him stick his nose in the corner though and he screams like you doing something horrible! Like you said, have to be smarter...know what they don't like and how to use it.

I must apologize for my generation (the 60's) as they ruined a whole population of young people with their peace, love and Dr. Spock! :(

The police did this to make sure you went back into a safe house. We do it all the time. Don't worry, they probably didn't find you collection of fetish magazines

Seriously though, catching a burglar is not easy. Alarms scaring them off, neighbors scaring them off, and slow response times due to traffic are just a few. But believe me when I say this, police LOVE to catch burglars. I HATE THOSE PUNKS. We have an unwritten rule that if we catch a burglar we get a day off paid!

Yes...testing to see if it moved to the top within just the general discussion thread (and not unread thread).
