Where did you get your little clamp things that you put on your frame sliders to tie in your bike?

I made them. I'm calling them "Track Shackles" for now...(Unless someone can suggest a better, catchier name).
I have a revised design in the works that doesnt cause the tiedown straps to crimp like the ones I had at ECR did. I need some prototype testers actually.
In fact, the first 3 people to answer the following question get a free pair each:

Who was the last rider to win five 500cc (2-stroke) championships in a row, and where was he from (Country/state).

Post here so we can see the answers and who gets the free Track Shackles.

So far everyone has failed to read the instructions. Original question asked what country AND state the rider is from!

This reminds me when my teacher told me to read the instructions on the test and i didn't. It said "write your name on the back of the paper and do not answer the questions...you will receive a 100" I made a zero on that test

So fixxer, miles and rhino each get a set of track shackles. Remember the deal is you have to provide pictures of them in use. A short endorsement would be nice too.
I'll be able to make them this week, and try to get to the next bike night to deliver them.

Here is the latest version of the Track Shackle under construction. These were being cut on the mill while I put the new SuMo wheel on my KTM:

Its remarkable how much difference a few numbers make on a materials order.
I ordered 6061 aluminum to make these shackles but the seller sent me 5052 instead. This stuff is awful. With the same feeds and speeds as the previous set of shackles this Al. is 'sticky' and causes lots of chatter. Instead of making chips, this material is 'flaking' off. This ruins the surface finish and in combination with the stickiness, ruins cutters. I also dont like the shackles at 13mm - I think thats too thin. Without any FEA software I'm not going to trust these ones so I'll make some more at 18mm. Material is on its way, it will be here friday.
I'm not sure when I need to travel next but I'll try to schedule this around the next bike night so I can bring all the sets with me.

I put it in the truck to take it to the track. Not a huge deal as I have only done 4 or 5 track days.

Fellas, before I start making the next batch of track shackles I need everyone to send me the diameter of their sliders to make sure they'll fit. Thomas tried the gen1 versions on his bike but they didn't fit.
Post up here with the diameter in mm and I'll bring them to bike night this week.
